Malin + Goetz Recovery Treatment Oil.

Howdy their September, where did you come from!?…Does this mean its time to whack out the layers again?…YES’IRY.

Today I’m bringing you a lil’ review of something I’ve been testing out for the past few weeks.

It’s a relatively NEW product from Malin + Goetz, released in July. It’s their Recovery Treatment Oil.

Before I start filling your mind up with all my thoughts out of my tiny little brain I would just like to state the DRAMA that I’ve just experienced! I went to insert my SD card into my iMac and accidentally pushed it in the CD drive, I mean how much of an idiot am I? Eventually after sticking every possible object into the CD drive I managed to get it out. Phew!

Okay crisis over lets begin…

Recovery Treatment Oil

(30ml £62.00)

First off whenever something for my face has the word ‘treatment’ in the tittle it immediately peaks my interest. I don’t particularly know why, I just feel like a treatment sounds like it would do my skin good; if that makes any sense…nope.

Packaging:

I always like to have a little mention of the packaging, I know it doesn’t actually effect the product but I believe it shows how much effort and belief a brand has in the item.

The oil comes in what M+G call an ‘iconic blue apothecary bottle’ with a glass and silicone dropper.

I’m a fan of the bottle, it’s not to ‘out there’ and would fit in nicely with anyones bathroom interior, I also enjoy the white font contrast on the blue glass.

What is it?

M+G Recovery Treatment Oil is a luxurious skincare treatment oil formulated with 9 natural oils and anti-oxidants working together to help fight ageing by renewing your skins appearance.

Increasing the skins hydration and moisture barrier, smoothing out lines and wrinkles, improving skins elasticity, complexion and over all tone after continued daily use.

Sounds like a miracle treatment, right?

Some Ingredients to mention:

  • Evening Primrose, Argan, and JoJoba oils help give strength to the skin natural moisture barrier which in-turn helps soften fine lines.
  • Grapeseed and Rosehip oils improve the skin elasticity giving it that bouncy awake look.
  • Geranium and Borage oils reduce inflammation and help with balancing oil production (I NEED THIS).
  • Avocado and Camellia oils hydrate, condition and soften.

How to Apply:

This oil can be used both morning and night. Personally I like to use it at night only because I do find it can be a bit too ‘shiny’ for daytime use.

After cleansing and toning apply 3-4 drops and pat all over your face, follow on with your usual routine.

M+G suggest using 5-7 drops of product, I feel like that’s way to much! Not only will you run through the product at a very fast rate but I just don’t feel like it’s a necessary amount.

Whats not so great?

Not much really, I think the product itself is great.

However on a personal level I’m not a big fan of the scent, it’s very powerful and although it does fade away after application I don’t enjoy it during use.

Final Thoughts:

I’m a fan!

Easy to use and fast results; my skin definitely feels like it has more of a ‘bounce’ to it (not that I need it, with my watermelon cheeks).

If I was to compare this to any other product I would for sure say it’s similar to the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. Although they both have similarities they are both brilliant in their own right.

Obviously this treatment can be used by both genders but I feel it would be a great gift for a man. Maybe he doesn’t have a clue about oils, or he’s looking for a good quality one, look no further.

I hope this has been an enjoyable read for you. I’m off now on to the ever boring job search…I hope your day is a little more exciting!

See ya later,

Jack.
