I’m not much of a drinker, but I’m certainly not adverse to the odd Pina Colada, especially when frozen. It wont be any surprise that The Body Shops newest range has a big massive slap you in the face and knock you to the floor thumbs up from me. Even if the range wasn’t Pina Colada themed I would have been happy with just a simple sweet Pineapple scent, but no they’ve gone one step further and added that creamy coconut. Hallelujah for all that encompasses this scent and thank you The Body Shop for this creation. Okay steady on Jack.
Basically this new LIMITED edition summer range was launched back in May with four body items, the usual: body butter, scrub, shower gel and then the bit more creative body sorbet (sorbet, ah I love that word, imagine a pineapple sorbet, yes please). I popped by my local Body Shop and encased myself in all the delicious scents and fell in love with this range instantly, I picked up every item in the range apart from the body butter, because I didn’t feel it was necessary to have the sorbet and the butter I’m not a dried up raisin.
All items in the range have extracts of Pineapple and Coconut from the Caribbean, when I’m using them I like to imagine I can afford to go to the Caribbean and this is what it would be like to shower in the Caribbean and moisturise in the Caribbean. Normal right?…
Piñita Colada Shower Gel (250ml £5)
Can we just take a quick second to appreciate that The Body Shop have now basically updated all their packaging, much more sleek and modern. Plus the shower gels are now so much easier to open. Moving swiftly on.
This gel is 100% soap free, all you guys out there who have an irritation to soap, GET THIS! Just because its soap free that doesn’t affect it having a great lather, meaning a small amount goes a long way. The consistency is similar to many of The Body Shop shower gels but it mostly resembles the Coconut gel. The scent probably doesn’t linger on the skin as much as I would hope but that’s okay because it leaves my bathroom smelling like a tropical paradise and I don’t feel like that’s an over exaggeration.
I always love a good scrub especially towards the summer season, plus with me going to America soon I want to have fresh skin so I can get the best possible tan! A cream scrub is a bit new for me, it’s a lot less abrasive than what I am used to. Personally I think this would be good for a daily scrub. Its full of nourishing oils which are great for conditioning this skin and its packed with shredded coconut to leave the skin smooth and refined. Perfect summer scrub I would say.
Body moisturising is such a chore and I am terrible at it! Mainly because when I get out of the shower I can’t think of anything worse than standing in the cold rubbing my body in lotions and potions. Alas it is needed if I don’t want to be a shrivelled dry E.T.
So if like me your terrible at moisturising your body then a sorbet might be the way to go, this is my first time using a sorbet and I love it. It’s lighter than a body butter and absorbs quickly. The texture is hard to describe but it’s almost jelly like and has 24hours of moisture. The delicious scent lasts a lot longer on the skin, I walk around all day smelling my arm and smiling in delight with the bliss of pineapple; which I now realise may look like I am smelling my armpits and being pleased at my natural sweat, so I will no longer be doing that.
All in all this is a really great range and scent. Fingers crossed The Body Shop will look into making this a permanent scent and not just limited for summer!
